- Information on how to enter forms part of these conditions of entry. By participating in this competition, all participants are deemed to have agreed to be bound by these terms and conditions. If an entrant does not follow the terms and conditions they are not eligible to win the associated Prize.
- The Promoter is DHL Express, Unit 3 Elm Road, Dublin Airport Logistics Park, St Margaret’s Road, St. Margaret’s, Co Dublin. Additionally, this promotion is in conjunction with MEC Global, 12 Clanwilliam Square, Grand Canal Quay,Dublin 2, D02 CD51, Ireland.
- Promotional Period:
- Entries will be accepted between 12:00pm GMT on the 1 February, 2019 and 23:55 GMT on the 16 April, 2019 inclusive. All entries must be received by the end of the relevant Promotional Period. Entries submitted after the closing date will not be accepted.
- Entry is open to persons between the ages of 8-15 only and the video must be submitted on social media by the parent or guardian of the entrant. When the winner is chosen, proof of age will be sought by the Promoter to confirm their eligibility to claim the Prize.
- The parent or guardian refers to the individual who holds parental responsibility for the child.
- Entry is open to residents of the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland only.
- To Enter:
- To enter this competition, entrants must get their parent or guardian to record a video of them giving a motivational team-talk to the Irish rugby team before the first Rugby World Cup 2019™ match against Scotland in Japan. Videos must be no longer than 1 minute in length.
- Get a parent or guardian to post your video on their social media account, tag DHL using our handles below and use the competition hashtag #DHLMatchBallDelivery.
- Your parent or guardian can post to Facebook, Instagram or Twitter or all of the preceding.

- For the purpose of selecting a winner, only the name or username of the parent or guardian who uploaded the video will be recorded and stored within a secure database held locally by the Promoter. These names or usernames will only be stored until a winner is selected, which will take place in April 2019. After this time, the data will be deleted, except for the winner of the competition. The winner’s information will be needed to process and fulfil the Prize as well as promotional activities. This will include images, video content and possibly other forms of media. The winners name or username will be kept on the secure file for a period of 1 year.
- The Promoter will judge entries and a single winner will be selected to travel along with a parent or guardian.
- The winner will need to supply the following details to DHL which may be shared with the DHL global sponsorship team in order to arrange the Prize:
- Full Name
- Phone Number
- Passport number
- Date of Birth
- Address
- By entering the DHL Match Ball Delivery Promotion, entrants give their consent for the entries to be used by the Promoter without compensation, over and above the award of the Prize, for up to one year for promotional purposes from the date of entry. Copyright will remain with the entrant.
- By entering this Promotion, the entrant agrees to the Promoter publishing or sharing these entries on their Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and other social media platforms.
- They also agree to participate in any reasonable publicity arising from the Promotion of the Promoter’s choosing without consent or further payment, over and above the award of the Prize, for up to one year from the date of entry. Appropriate credit will be given to the original entrant at the Promoter’s discretion. Promotional activities will include images and video content for social media and possible other forms of media.
- The Prize:
- One entrant will be selected to deliver the match ball to the referee when Ireland plays Scotland at Rugby World Cup 2019™, Japan on 22 September, 2019.
- The Prize will include flights and accommodation for the competition winner and a parent or guardian to accompany them on the trip.
- The accompanying person must be over the age of 18.
- Further Prize Details and Conditions:
- The Match Ball Delivery Prize does not include transfers to and from the winner’s home of residence to the international airport.
- Airline seats are subject to availability.
- This is a non-transferable offer. The Prize cannot be transferred to any other match other than that previously stated.
- Flight tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable. Once tickets have been issued, they are only valid for the flights, dates and times shown. Name changes to the flight seats once confirmed are not permitted.
- The winner and their parent or guardian must abide by and are subject to the relevant airline’s Conditions of Carriage.
- If the flight is cancelled by the winner, no alternatives will be issued and for the avoidance of doubt, no compensation and/or refund will be provided.
- The winner and their parent or guardian are responsible for having up to date and valid passports/visas and must take out sufficient travel insurance to cover their personal needs.
- The winner and their parent or guardian must be available to travel between 20 September to 24 September 2019.
- Any other expenses not listed are not included in the Prize including souvenirs, gratuities, car parking charges, excess baggage, additional excursions and attractions or any other costs.
- Winner Notification:
- The winner’s parent or guardian will be contacted on the social media account that they used to submit their video. They will be required to respond to confirm eligibility plus acceptance of the Prize within 4 working days of initial contact. If the winner does not respond to communications within 4 working days, the Promoter reserves the right to disqualify that winner and award the Prize to a reserve winner.
- The Prize is non-transferable, is not exchangeable and has no cash or other alternative in whole or in part.
- Each winner and his/her guest(s) as applicable agree to comply with the terms and conditions applicable to the issue and use of tickets from time to time (as available and set out at https://info.tickets.rugbyworldcup.com/tickettc-e/ or such other webpage as determined by Rugby World Cup Limited (“RWCL”) from time to time), the tournament organiser (Japan Rugby 2019, “JR2019”) and all applicable venue owner or operator rules and regulations to access Rugby World Cup 2019™ venues and any other areas associated with Rugby World Cup 2019™ (including any terms of accreditation determined by RWCL). Further each winner and his/her guest(s) acknowledge that he/she may be required to enter into a direct acknowledgement and/or agreement with RWCL and/or JR2019 concerning use of the tickets and compliance with ticket terms and conditions prior to receiving the prize.
- Winners and/or guests shall not, while using Rugby World Cup 2019™ tickets, display or publicise any political slogans or homophobic language, images of a lewd or explicitly sexual nature, images containing logos of competitors and overt brand sponsorship or anything else deemed to ambush marketing or an abuse of the Rugby World Cup 2019™, content which is defamatory, obscene, illegal, vulgar, offensive or otherwise unsuitable or infringes others’ rights (including intellectual property rights) or reflects negatively upon any of RWCL or the Rugby World Cup 2019™. Each entrant agrees and acknowledges that any breach of this clause 16 will cause significant damage and loss to RWCL.
- The Promoter may pass personal information relating to prize winners to RWCL and/or JR2019 (and any of their service providers or agents) for the purposes of monitoring the distribution and use of Rugby World Cup 2019™ tickets and related experiences and, in the event of a suspect breach of any terms and conditions, rules or regulations of RWCL and/or JR2019 relating to the use of such tickets and/or experiences, investigating and taking action against such winners.
- This promotion is run by the Promoter with the permission of RWCL. Accordingly the Promoter is responsible for the operation of and all matters and concerns relating to the promotion, not RWCL or any other persons involved in staging of Rugby World Cup 2019™ (including JR2019) and World Rugby (formerly the International Rugby Board), all of whom shall not be responsible for or liable to entrants in any way whatsoever in connection with this promotion.
- Any personal data will be held in accordance with all the relevant data protection legislation currently in force. The Promoter will only use personal data for the administration of this Promotion and no other purpose unless we have your consent. - Social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram and Twitter have their own privacy policies. By uploading to these platforms, it is the responsibility of the parent or guardian to abide by and follow these policies and not that of the Promoter.
- The Promoter cannot accept any responsibility for any damage, loss or injury suffered by any entrant entering the promotion or as a result of accepting or participating in any Prize. Nothing shall exclude the Promoter’s liability for death or personal injury as a result of its negligence.
- The Promoter or its agencies will not be responsible for the non-inclusion of entries as a result of technical failures or otherwise, including any such failure which is within the control of the Promoter or its agencies. Proof of submission of entry is not proof of receipt of entry. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for system errors or other issues that may result in disruption to lost, delayed or not received entries or winner notifications.
- If you are a winner of the Promotion, you agree that the Promoter may use your name, entry (if applicable) and town or county of residence to announce the winners of this Promotion.
- By entering the Promotion, entrants confirm that they have read and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
- If an act, omission, event or circumstance occurs which is beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter and which prevents the Promoter from complying with these terms and conditions the Promoter will not be liable for any failure to perform or delay in performing its obligations.
- The Promoter’s decision is final and binding in all matters relating to this Promotion.
- If any provisions of these Terms and Conditions are judged to be invalid, illegal or unenforceable, this shall not affect or impact the continuation in full force and effect the remainder of the provisions.

- DHL reserves the right to void the competition Prize at any time and change the conditions.
- DHL reserves the right to refuse to honour any entry or to recover the full value of any Prize if it considers there has been an abuse or breach of the terms and conditions of this competition.
